Just a few weeks after the two warring factions of Handball Association of India came together to work on amicable terms, the association completed its successful election process in Jaipur on June 26. A new executive committee was formed after the elections wherein, Digvijay Singh Chautala was elected as the new president of the HAI, A Jaganmohan Rao as Secretary General, Dr. Tejraj Singh as Treasurer, and Dr. Anandeshwar Pandey as the Executive Director amongst the other executive committee members. The months-long impasse in HAI was resolved by the Indian Olympic Association by bringing the two factions together to work in cohesion towards the betterment of the sport and its athletes. The amicable resolution, achieved through active participation by IOA leadership, President Dr P.T Usha, and its Joint Secretary & Acting CEO Kalyan Chaubey, assumes importance as India prepares for the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games. Also, the first edition of Handball Premier League witnessed its successful completion in Jaipur, where six teams from different states took active participation.
